If you have students accessing from one of your organisation’s sites you will receive an email to arrange an IT test. This test is essential to ensure that students can access lessons without issues, so make sure to get in back in touch as soon as possible.
Common issues related to onsite firewall’s are:
1007: ICE negotiation failed - The browser tried to negotiate ports to use to stream the media and that negotiation failed.
WebSocket (WS) error 1002 - If you have opened the required ports listed above you may also have to enable web sockets through your firewall. Here is an article on how to do this with Smooth Wall: https://kb.smoothwall.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003342820-Allowing-Access-to-WebSockets-Through-the-Smoothwall-Filter
Error 1004 - This could be due to the STUN port 3478 being restricted. If the default port for STUN is restricted, it will attempt to use an alternative port. Some firewalls are configured to block the alternative ports if the default one isn't used.
What to expect on a Tute IT test
For the test you will be provided credentials for an IT test account and an IT test lesson available via the accounts timetable.
The test will cover all aspects of the lesson, audio, video, white board, chat box and screen share.
if all the above pass and you do not get ICE 1007, 1004, 1002 or other errors then your site will be removed from the IT test list and bookings will be good to go.
